New but not so new.........

Post by Jizza » Fri Sep 21, 2012 12:54 am

Hi guys. Decided to finally join after awhole year!!!! I have been snooping around but never really joined up until now..........

I've had afew cars in my past from a 1996 Honda civic lsi, a 1998 Audi a3, a 1999 Honda s2000, then to a 350bhp 2001 evo 6, back to a 2004 Honda s2000 facelift and now to a BMW x5 :P

I was really into my sports cars until i found out last year that i would become a proud father to my baby girl :)

Hence the reason why I decided to go with the e53. it is a silver 2004 facelift 3.0d sport(without the sat nav), with 78000 fbmwsh. in my opinion the car is spotless, only thing I wish it did have was the sat Nav and all round air suspension.

It was the only car I could think of that was big enough to fit in the big baby seats and the huge pram I have! Plus it was probably the best looking family car I could think of in my budget range. It was between a Audi a6 or the x5, I never had a 4x4 and I wanted to feel kinda mighty on the roads so it definitely had to be the x5 lol.

Not done much to the daddy wagon apart from change the angel eyes to some LEDs,  change the rear number plate bulbs to LEDs to make the car look abit newer and put some nice 22" inch multispoke rims on.

Ive also just ordered the flared arch kit from BMW direct which hopefully will be with me in the next couple of weeks ;)

I also plan to get the oem 4.6/4.8 rear splitter and put some dummy pipes to liven up the bum lol

Last thing is to dump it but I'm in 2 minds as I'm sure it isn't as simple as just buying a lowering kit and fitting it in like a normal car as I know it has the rear air suspension......

I will post a pic of the car along the way but I'm using the iPhone right now, so another time when I decide to finally open my laptop :'(

Apart from that HELLO everyone:) I'm sure I will learn a lot and make afew buddys along the way:)

Welcome and look forward to the pics.

Good to see you've already started on the mods.

We'll all be more than happy to help you mod her further.

I've actually just gone down the route of removing all the air suspension from my 4.8. I've gone down the coilover route and just need to sort out the coding side of things. If you're looking to lower it then you have a couple of options and tbh it isn't too bad. You can get lowering springs to drop the front and adjustable links for the rear self levelling. Or you can remove the rear airbags and go back to an original spring set up.
