A big plan worked out

Post by finnie » Fri Sep 24, 2010 1:24 pm

Hi

Been on here already posting but i thought that now my big plan had worked out I could at last post some pics

I had a 2006 E60 M5 but it wasn't quite the car i had expected so decided it had to go. I also had a caterham as a toy but i found i just wasn't using it enough with our weather and also the poor running of it. So after 3 weeks of chaos, most of the plans have come together.

Ah yes, that is nice.

What is it like to have the satnav low down in the porker?

Never driven a M5, was there anything in particular you did not like?

No it's an alpine unit, still trying to figure it out. Only does sat nav though, but i suppose it'll do and better than nothing.

Spot on regarding the M5, 250 miles for 80 quid just annoys me! 610 in the X5 for 100 much better, even the porker is getting 20mpg on day one! I'm not hanging around either!

Lovely couple of replacement cars there mate.

Personally prefer the look of the Alpine Unit to the Standard one but it might be the big dirty Phone in the pic 535dboy posted that is influencing my thoughts!

Love the M5 / M6. I am considering an M6 at the moment as my mate is looking to put his up for sale and it is an awesome piece of kit!

I second that view, think the alpine unit looks more oem!! Lol. Works in the interior better. Why on earth would Porsche choose to put a daft handset in there like that?? With handsfree legally being the way forward etc?? (no offence 535d)

Still a fairly low position though. I quite like the line-of-sight position which I have in my M where it is high.

Ahh ok, cracking car, I would love one, was just surprised by the bat phone!! Lol. Saying that though, 2004, my x5 is 03 and has factory Bluetooth with voice activation standard, thought Porsche would have been at this level if not further. But as you say, times have changed
