How Often Do Micro Filters Need Changing

Hi all

How often do the micro filters need changing in an X6? Noticed in my service book that mine had them done in 2010 and 2011, being a 2009 that makes it every year, surely thats over kill?

Cant recall 100% but im sure my I Drive says something like 27k miles, or am i thinking of something else :-[

Ok, just checked in I Drive and it doesnt say anything about the filter, i am talking rubbish

Not had anything done on mine, and the first service is still months away. When I asked about anything needing doing on a time basis, the Dealer told me that nothing needs doing before that point. So that will be at the two year point.

Hi Richard

I noticed in I Drive today that i need a "statutory inspection" in September, what is involved in this, is it a check or changing of items?

I thought it was saying oil in September but the date for that is early 2013 or 3k miles so its just the inspection now?

I think that's the date your MOT should be due. Probably find the previous owner did not reset the date after the last one.

I found this WikiHow guide which seems to tell owners how to reset/change the dates. Some Dealers are apparently happy to call it a 'Safety Inspection' and charge you £100+ just to have a look over the car. Others will simply tell you it's for the MOT. If you have a BMW Warranty then it's probably worth checking to see if BMW have to carry out the check, or it can just be done with the MOT...

Hi There

"statutory inspection" is the warning in conjunction with the MOT test and can easily be reset via the idrive .

Supplying dealer tried his luck saying it had to be done via computer and wanted me to do an 8 hour round trip to have it done, albeit at no charge since it was there mistake he said :blink:.

Local dealer said "pop in and i will do it for you for free". It took 2 mins and was done earlier today

Glad it's sorted.

Perhaps BMW GB will one day realise why their standings in so many surveys about Dealer Performance are in a steady decline. There really was no excuse or justification in asking you to do a trip of that nature. >:(

3 times i had to explain that i lived 4 hours away. Finally at my request he went to see his manager to see what he could do then came back and said "bring it in we will do it free".

At that i just are you kidding me or something >:(

Local dealer couldn't do enough to help.
