I would have thought you would have had a suitably trained officer junior to do this for you at lunchtimes for cash............(on rare days clients arent buying you lunch out) :)

I used to use hose on cars all the time, however, cant remember last time I did.

Soaking car with water only results in water marks before I wash/dry each panel & hose or even Karcher isn't enough to clean car on it's own without a mitt & bucket(s).

I simply use twin bucket absent of wash/shampoo, ( to avoid need to hose rinse suds), unless car filthy & agenda to prewash without contact.

I can wash/dry mine in 15-20 mins if not filthy...... Takes just 5 or so mins p/day with damp MF to keep on top of things daily & when not been driven excessively &/or in wet.

Not exceeding 70mph helps reduce dead flies on  front too...........Not that you'd know a lot about that ;)

My office juniors are all female and I get frowned upon when I suggest they wash my car in the staff issue white t-shirt!

Clearly I do not know what you are referring to re your last para!

Ah yes, dusting off the old hose  :))

All those weeks of non washing  O:-)

AW8 - you need a vessel to get rid of the water stains, cuts the washing time in half!

Not yet convinced time saving is there when factoring setting up for each wash.

It's literally 'plug and play' as has Hozelock fittings.  Takes a few seconds.  I have asset of 'stop' ends on the hose so can pull it off the pressure washer and snap it onto the DIV.  The line off the DIV also has a 'stop' end on it so until the trigger gun attached there is no flow.  Changeover from PW to DIV is under a minute.  I keep the vessel in the garage and it's a very short walk to where I wash the car....10 yards maybe.

Don't worry - that is why I went the subtle way of asking for a link!!!

A number of us bought one of these 11litre DI Vessels from the company linked to after Raj organised a Group Buy.  In simple terms it contains a resin mix and connects into your hose line and remove almost all dissolved solids (aka limescale) in the form of Calcium and Magnesium salts so giving you very soft water.  In this area the water supply has 550ppm of TDS - or very hard water.  The output from the DIV drops this to 1ppm!!

When you wash the car you get no water spots at all.  Only use it for the final rinse off.

We each paid £100 delivered.  The resin lasts for up to 1,000 litres and then you tip it out and put a new lot in.  If you want one you need to call Doug and tell him you are from here - probably need to mention Raj too - and if he has any left he'll send it next day delivery.

You will also need a TDS Meter like this one - there are others available on eBay - so you can check your TDS in the supply and to tell when the resin is expiring (the reading will rise again) as you need to keep the reading low to avoid water spots.

In depth discussion from the Forum here.  10 pages long!
