Off to France at end of month so decided to check the beam converters. Left side, not a problem. Right side - as soon as I touched the lever, it sprang upwards and out of sight/feel. Can anyone tell me whether I wii need to get into the xenon housing to retrieve it and if so, can I do it myself? Or, am I better off just leaving it and if so what effect on lighting is it likely to have.
I understand les gendarmes are getting hot on spare bulb kits, breathalyser kits etc. Lets hope a front flasher bulb doesn't go while I'm away.

European headlamp adjuster lost?
Re: European headlamp adjuster lost?
Hello & Welcome......I bet a few 'choice' words were said too...
Xenon HID lamps should have a flat beam pattern so it may not be so much of an issue. Getting inside the lamp unit probably will be a 'challenge'... I don't know what the effect will be and a 'garage wall test' might your best bet. Someone on here may have delved inside the lamp unit.
Can you tell us what version/year your X5 is?
And even possibly.....and Sanj will be along if I don't do this, so.........

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: European headlamp adjuster lost?
Thanks for responding. I have a E53 late 2006 3.0d sports, purchased 2 years ago with few problems. It is used mainly for caravan towing and copes really well without any alteration to fan or oil cooler. Will put pics on shortly.
