Hi everyone,
Yesterday the mrs pulled the interior door handle at the same time I pressed the lock release button.
In short the interior door handle is now loose and doesn't open the door...
Any suggestion? Quick fix DIY or garage job?
Secondly my brakes are squealing and there is also a metallic sound coming at low speeds which I can feel vibrating in the wheel, also when I brake from high speeds there is alot of wheel judder. Am I looking at warped brakes?
Thanks in advanced

Interior door handle and brakes question
Re: Interior door handle and brakes question
Sounds like something's come adrift, you can quickly check by removing the piece of trim behind the door release and seeing if the cable is still attached, make sure you pull the trim off from the point furthest away from the handle, just gently lift it and it should pop out of the fixings.
With regards the brakes, this could be a number of things, but firstly you need to check the pad thickness to make sure you are not metal to metal.
You might also have any amount of crap build up that would give you a squealing sound.
The vibration could be either brakes or suspension parts, do a search on here and something will come up.
The "warped" disc scenario usually turns out to be a build up on the disc, you can improve this by driving along and braking quite hard a couple of times to clear the build up, but you might need to get them skimmed if it's really bad, but obviously check your pads before doing the heavy braking bit.
A lot of build up occurs when you have driven for a while and the brakes are nice and hot, then when you brake, and come to a stop, you sit there with your foot on the brake pedal for a little while, the pad material can literally stick to the disc, thus giving you the impression of "warped" discs.
Hope that helps.

Re: Interior door handle and brakes question
I had an issue with high speed juddering on an AUC car I bought recently. The disc runout was 0.002 thou, so within tolerance, but tye inner pads were almost down to the wear indicator.
The dealer has replaced the front brakes and all is well. It could also be thrust arm bushes, but in my experience, it's usually discs.

Re: Interior door handle and brakes question
hi it is usually the outside door handle that breaks first , but after fixing mine 2 months ago it is an easy fix as there are 2 plastic pieces like a knuckle joint that fits in the other part behind the door handle , be carefull when taking the panel off or the handle as the plastic light holder is very flimsy behind & easily snaps off , I am sure some one posted a thread on here about replacing the outside handle that I used when replacing the outside one ! good luck .

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Had a punt at it... Broked the interior handle light clip that I was warned about and I couldn't get the handle to latch.
