Auto Unlock

Post by Denis O » Sun Jul 01, 2012 9:33 am

My 06 plate has the lock at 5 mph function enabled. However, when I stop and turn the ignition off it does not automatically unlock. I'm sure my 535 used to do that so wondered if this can be enabled on the X. I do find that it will unlock just the door that is opened and then, when locking on the fob, it will unlock all locks and lock them immediately.

Ok, just did a search (I know, arse about face) and found my current process is the way it happens. I've also read that the Intravee can unlock when the auto is put into park but the big question is how????

Sanj, where are ya??

Morning...

Got called last night...

Intravee will do that - X5 is the older generation of cars compared to the E60/61 which use the iDrive to change these settings.

The E53 X5 will have a load of iBus commands that the Intravee team have managed to identify and get the Intravee to repeat when needed. So the system knows when you put the car in Park, take the key out of the barrel and then fire off an unlock command (same as lock in the case of the X5 actually).

They do other stuff too, folding mirrors (if you have the factory fit option in the first place), putting PDC data on the OBD, etc.

Nice touches that make the car better...

Thanks Sanj. I don't have the folding mirror option on the car so can't use that but I do want to use the Intravee for the unlock function.

At present the Intravee is managing the iPod activity only. How do you get it to manage the auto unlock? Extra cables to connect or just an enabling process. Only bought the Intravee a couple of months ago so assuming it has all the up to date software.

It's unlikely it will have the firmware with extras menu on it Denis, you'll have to register on the Intravee site and ask them to send you an email with the latest firmware as it's not available on the site.  If you have any problems I'll try and send you the latest firmware I have which is v6.02-6423.

Firstly thanks to David for sending me the software. I of course chickened out and ended up sending my Intravee and KCA to Richard P. For not a lot of sheckles he did the mod on the KCA which stops it going to sleep every 2 minutes and updated the Intravee software as well.

It arrived with him on Tuesday last week and was back with me on Thursday. Great service and now I have an i-Pod that stays awake and when I put the car in park it unlocks  :P :)

I wish it would stop raining in Kent and I might just be able to get out the Meguiars and give it some TLC.
