You can always run the program in XP compatibility mode if that is what it requires, so yes - there should be no problem in doing it.

Im sure I read it works fine, if any problems and pvr's tip doesnt work you can always try right click on install.exe and select run as administrator - this sometimes helps installing on win7

Not sure it likes 64bit though. What was up with your old laptop? I use my old one just for the car.

Not sure if all versions on Win7 have the ability to run all programmes in 32-bit mode using some clever facility inside the OS. The full version of Win7 (Ultimate) certainly does, but the lower versions may not. It's the drivers rather than the programs that can give rise to the most issues. Some of the techies I work with have suggested running something called a 'virtual machine' which runs XP inside Win7 Pro or Ultimate, but that's well beyond my current level of knowledge.

I'm even toying with having a dual boot option on the laptop so I can choose either XP or Win7 at switch on.

I did but my girlfreind and I recently parted on bad terms and that laptop was one of the many. Things that vanished 250 miles away while I was at work monday! But onwards and upwards!

Bummer, I use a dell d430 for the car, pretty cheap on eBay and they have a serial port too. Got a dell d630 somewhere too and a couple of power edge servers.... Really need a good sort out and eBay session lol

Windows7 can run apps natively in XP Compatability Mode.  Does this work?
