My Summer...................

Post by AW8 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 5:20 pm

Thought I'd share my summer fun.....................

As a few may know we have been renting for a lot longer than we have hoped.

I wanted to have bought again by now, however, despite prior intended purchases, things havent worked out & we have had to stay in the rental sector.

Our last landlords got bored with their new & fun retirement hobby & decided to sell when I told them the boiler wasn't working....I think they cried

Image

Having been served notice for 2nd time in 18 months my wife, (who seriously dislikes renting), wasn't happy to say the least.

Image

We managed to find a rental home but it has been rented a while and is in need of some updating.

Image

Annoyingly it has had one or two areas of mould inside - even in summer

Image

3 forced house moves in 18 mths & various other pressures made me a little less happy than usual & I may have shown this at home at times.

Image

Due to forced moving expenditure we sensibly decided not go away on holiday, (third consecutive year without same).

Oh well , we thought.........We can holiday at home instead

Image

With all the talk of global warming I prayed for some good weather to spend with my wife & family.

Image

At work I found myself having to be more mindful of the need for political correctness.............At least I don't have to be subject to the strict diversity policies that some workers have to comply with.

Image

With all work & no play I became more grumpy & as a result my wife wasnt overly happy re this.

Image

Anyway we looked forward to me finally having some time off & enjoying the summer weather.............finally that time came.

Image

Ideal for a drive to the local shops to check out the latest merchandise.

Image

The journey was well worth it I can tell you...........

Image

I moved around the venue quickly & my speed nearly cost me some points - fortunately I remembered my card.

Image

I took some car park snaps before leaving - this ones the best ......Sorry I had to use my camera phone, (I hate that my old 35mm camera wont fit into the boot of my car)..............Who can guess the make and model of the car 2nd nearest to my on the right.........(clue it has a prancing lion badge) ;)

Image

When shopping, my wife bought a new bikini. She looked great in it & was looking forward to wearing it at the local beach.

Image

................but August turned out to be the wetest in the uk for 14 yrs so she would have been better wearing this.............

Image

No summer would be complete without a 4 wheel fix & my father can let me borrow his pride & joy.

Image

Despite official time off I also had to do work & study from home this Summer.

Image

I became a little nervous re my forthcoming exam & had to pop some pills the night before the exam to keep me on track.

Image

With all the Summer excitement I think I sailed through my work related exam.........

Image

Before I knew it I was back to work......On my first day back, one of my customers was naughty & called me a rude name - He really was a very angry chap

Image

.......I confess that I may have privately laughed about this afterwards..

Other highlights, ( sorry no pics) : Buying a beach kayak & sustaining a blistering my back so I couldnt use it for ages after it's first full day use. Daughters 18th, bought her a diamond ring & a stone fell out ; took her skydiving - cancelled due to thunder. Buying a pop up tent that wouldnt collapse. Breaking a greenhouse window. Driving in rain with broken window regulator. Mother calling 2 yrs early to ask how 14 yr old did in GCSE's ! Last but not least visiting & daily calling my 87 yr old father who has deterioratring health.....Otherwise all good & on a more positive note we managed a nice meal out one evening

Well that was my Summer...............................Thanks for reading & looking :D

Oh & btw ; If anyone is worried re aforemetioned pill popping - I well & truly got over it some days later when things suddenly caught up with me !

Image

.......................................Must go - I really need to do a little cleaning now  ;)

I enjoy reading others recreation & hol's updates etc - My tounge in cheek post primarly mocking self rather & certainly not inended to offend others on here whom I respect but feel comfortable exchanging friendly banter with ;)

So, when are the exam results then?

Was that last picture at Mogsys house before the first karting session? :D

Hope you get that house sorted out, renting can't be much fun.

AW8, that has to be one of, if not the funniest post you have ever made!!! my heart goes out to you & your family as you clearly have had a $.... load to deal with. Heres to things getting better and as for renting, not the easiest thing to do with a family but I have to say the way the market is at the moment, you should find yourself in a very strong position as and when the right place comes along.

Oh, one thing to add BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D :D :D Hope the renting comes to an end for you sometime soon, its no fun at the best of times.....I've had to rent away from home this past year while on a contract too far from home to commute.....
Been doing lots of :driving: luckily the contract ended today  (now for the packing up and lugging stuff home in newly acquired Load Lugger behind my trusty 4.8 (towbar works beautifully, yay!) and roof top box with its whistling roof rails :D

Thanks for sentiments & comments....................plus in one case appreciated restraint ;)

Beer comment agreed once my sanity returns & when pvr fully recovered.

Luck not on my side currently.........Landlady thinks we are doing something to cause the mould in the house. I've lived in 16 different homes of various standards & have never had a mould/damp problem. Oh & this weeks broken household consumeables - Microwave & 2 mobile phones

Whilst comments made & replies appreciated I am not making effort here to develop this thread further....Nothing more I can add except to say - here's hoping.
