New X5 owner!!

Post by Imy » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:12 am

Finally picked up my X5 last night. Was meant to get it this morning but I couldn't wait any longer!

I got a 3.0 sport in black with LPG.
74k miles with FSH.
It's got cream interior with the dreaded light wood inserts, which I will wrap in carbon fibre in the not too distant future.

Driving home yesterday I was surprised that for a 3litre it does shift somewhat...

Got a few things to sort out, got screens in headrest and DVD in boot but none of it is connected. Also has an after market pioneer flip screen, which charges iPhone but doesn't connect to it to play songs!

Anyways I'm over the moon and feel extremely privileged to own such a vehicle at 26!

Hi and welcome...

26 eh? I had a Mk1 Cavalier Sportshatch of my own and an Austin Maestro as a Gov't issued heap (and heap it was too) - brings shivers of horror when I think back. You can stop laughing hysterically now!!

thanks for all the welcomes!

Iv been trying to find any excuse to dive somewhere. Filled up full lpg and came to £44, including discount from pump it was £38 in total! Looking to see what type of mileage I get out of it.

Is there any way of stopping the passenger wing mirror going downwards when the car is reverse coz it is annoying the hell out of me as it doesn't go back to its original position.
Also how do I set the memory seats into position?

Thanks again...

Regarding the mirror move the adjuster selector to the other mirror and it won't do it

I was similar when I got mine..... Any excuse

Welcome along.

Wood trim - a touch of the Sanj's

26, lets see, MkIII Cavalier and a Triumph Speed Triple T509

You will def enjoy the banter on here and find the fix to your mirror not coming back into position. Just do the search or someone with more time will post a link for you (que X5Sport / Sanj) ;)
Also how do I set the memory seats into position?
With the ignition on, move the seat to the desired position, press the 'M' button (Red LED lights up) then press the relevant memory number (1 to 3). Switch off and lock the car with that key. Unlock with the other key and repeat as before.

If 'key memory' has been enabled then the Drivers seat will move to the position stored for that key. Just don't get them confused, or lock the car with the other key or you need to press whichever memory button you used to get the seat back into the position you want. If it's not been switched on then you need access to someone with the scanner tools or get it done by a Dealer/Indy wit the right tools..
