Indeed not. Once you find out what the front of your new car is, you maybe getting up to some decent speeds as well

Oh ok, he he
I was talking to the smart dealer the other day and the new electric smart will go as 'fast' backwards as it will forwards.

Re: 40D now remapped....

jason, what are the downsides if any e.g. increased engine wear?
..The max my auto box would take before it any where near to slipping was well over 600 ftlbs (800nm)
we normally run ours around 550ftlbs (745nm)
We kept 40D's torque limit under 700nm with a smooth power and torque output..
I'm not against chiping and Jason has obvious knowledge and experience... & I might consider a small increase to my 30d when my warranty expires, but at 700NM I think this is going to shorten the X's box life.
The new X50d has as BMW puts it a "stronger box" fitted to cope with the 700NM & 360bhp the M50d has, so if a standard box was able to cope with this I doubt BMW would be improving/strengthen it.
OK if your only keeping the car a couple years, the box will last the current owner (but, poor guy down later gets the shaft)... but if you aim to keep car long term??

Re: 40D now remapped....
First of all congrats on the map...360bhp and 700nm sounds fantastic and secondly Jason is a top guy, so you're in safe hands.
Mine is about to undergo similar enhancement and have chosen to go with Evolve who claim similar figures. As for delimiting, either way
I am sure my missus who drives it will ever reach those speeds...this car will be lucky to see 80mph with her behind the wheel. BUT, on
that rare occasion I'm driving... but 155mph I think that's a long shot.
I can though confirm that my 335d on a spirited drive in Bavaria did a handsome (GPS verified) 169mph....

I had my old 335d M Sport mapped & GPS clocked 165, all legally driven of course. It's unusual for me not to have my car mapped but as yet I haven't had the 40D done. Had my old CLS 320 CDI mapped, which mapped VERY well. Also had my 997 C2S mapped & that didn't map quite as well as the others for some reason. E46 mapped very wll indeed!
