thanks for the help. I just unclipped it the next day and its been fine. i'll pick one up next i pass a dealership.

glad it was a nice simple fix

The same happened to me, the alarm went off randomly 3 times in one day.

I disconnected the bonnet switch until I could fit a new one, done that today, sorted.

Seems far too common a fault...must be the positioning to the elements. It's not as if it wears out through use

just had my alarm go off for the 4th time tonight! , killed two flys thinking it was them setting of the interior and while i was having a search for turning of the sonic sensors i fount out about the bonnet switch , iv just unplugged mine for just now , see if it lasts longer than the 30mins since the last pathetic chirp sound haha

fingers crossed or it could well be new battery time for the times5

Bonnet one failed on the E46 too......I never knew what the alarm sounded like until that switch failed.  Easy to replace though.  I think it was corroded pins inside.

I had to disconnect mine too due to corroded connection. Very common tbh.

My e46 use to do this and i just disconnected the bonnet sensor. Now i sleep peacefully  8)
