PDC failure

Post by nujon » Mon May 21, 2012 4:20 pm

Got the system failure continuous tone the other day - scanner detects fault at the 'Front Right' - always get this mixed up but on a UK RHD vehicle does 'right' mean offside or nearside?

Also does anyone know if 'Front Right' means a specic sensor or either of the two on that side of the bumper?

Drivers side outer. If it was the one closer to the number plate it would say inner. If its completely dead it won't be clicking when the system is activated. You need to get your ear really close

Thanks for the info

I've got a facelift model in which case the conventional wisdom is that I need to take the bumper off to swap the PDC - I found an article some time ago that described a method of changing the PDC with the bumper in place by using a dremmel to carefully cut away the PDC mount - can't find the article now but does anyone recall such an approach?

You'll need the L shaped sensor by the way so not sure youll be able to get it out easily using a dremel.
I need to take my bumper off to replace the outer front left and also one of the plastic mesh inserts but I'm waiting for decent weather. In the mean time I've disabled the front sensors so the rears work
