child seats
i will soon be needing a good childseat for a newborn baby im after something black/black plastic to match the black nappa, ive looked at the genuine bmw ones but they seem a little overpriced, dont get me wrong i dont fancy a £20 asda one but the £180 bmw one seems a little excessive so anyone recommend anything in between?

Have a look in toys r us. We got a buggy/carseat combo. Base stays in the car and you lock the carseat carrier into that when in the car or if you need pram click the carrier into that

For some reason when you click the link it misses the end close bracket off which you'll need to add for the link to work
Re: child seats
Don't know what pram you're going for but we went with Maxi Cosi. Rated v highly for safety, available in black, and very usefully with a sleeping baby (with adapters) it can be transferred straight onto a bugaboo pram base (and vice versa). Last thing you want when you set off on a journey is a freshly woken baby!

Go to the Which? site and see what seat has come out top for safety on their tests! Forget what looks good, the safety aspect is paramount! Isofix seats will clip into the frame of the car and all come out with higher ratings than non-isofix. Mothercare will even fit various seats into your car to see which fits best.
Oh and search for a Prince Lionheart! Example here. Keep that soft nappa protected!

Re: child seats
Maxi Cosi cabriofix with easy fix base (isofix), comes 2nd in Which? test (82% vs winner on 83%). Isofix version of what we used for our two boys when younger and works very well. Recommend it highly.

Re: child seats
Damn! That thing still going! I had that for my two 2 years back. Good to see it's still a great option. Oh and they always say never buy second hand but if you can vouch for the seller, no bad thing!
But being your first, sure you'd not like to go down that road.
Best of luck obviously with little one!

The time you go forward facing many months from now, check how it seats while cornering, had issues with seats swaying, also ended up with maxi-cosi because it has a hook at the top which secures the top of the seat, found this to seat even better then the isofix version even the John Lewis advisor agreed and they originally where telling me to get the isofix.
