Sounds like a bit of a result then....

And it seems we can safely say that BMWs assertion that the later breather was fitted from 2004 is a load of spheroids!! :x

Did you have to play 'dodge the showers' ?

Luckily no, done this last week when the Sun was out, just delayed at updating here, good thing we didn't do it this week. Yeah think post 2004 is crap, there far too many 2005 reporting the old breather.

One rather odd thing though, the mpg reading on the computer looks like it has dropped, will have to monitor after some more mileage but seems rather odd that a new breather and filter would do that.

It didn't on mine. All hoses on? Turbo vacuum leak?

I believe so, driving fine, any obvious way of telling?

Not if it's driving fine.....if the hoses are off/leaking then you need more throttle to make her go, and the turbo won't spool up as quickly......beyond that I can't think of anything obvious :scratchhead:

80k service and new air filter?

Post by jeegnesh » Sun May 20, 2012 8:05 pm

Quick update 1 month on.

Mpg is now 1 higher then before the changeover (31)

Could be a couple of reasons, breather and filter has bedded in or I normally only used to fill half tanks, figured carrying an extra 45 litre all the time wasn't good for mpg, then got lazy and went for full tanks but recently reverted back to halves and a month on my mpg is running 1 higher then before the changeover.
