Level Sensor Voltage
Level Sensor Voltage
Hi All
On my X with dual air setup I was looking at the height sensor voltages on autologic earlier and noticed that the voltage on both rear sensors and the front right went down as i pushed down on the car, but when I pushed down on the front left the voltage reading went up.
I have a self leveling inac warning but the sensors are not showing as faulty. Does anyone know if their x does the same or any opinions.
Thanks again

Re: Level Sensor Voltage
Just had a look at part no on sensor and the fron ones are part no 1 093 699 and 1 093 697.
When I search realoem for these it cant find them is this the correct part or has someone put incorrect sensors on it? Does anyone know the part no's for all four sensors so I can check them, tried looking on real oem but it doesnt make it clear which is which.

Stick the link on to the realoem page your looking at. Might be worth a call to the dealers parts department for the info but it could be the sensors on yours have been replaced with after market ones maybe? Or do they have BMW logo on them?
Re: Level Sensor Voltage
They have BMW logo on them and the date stamps are i think 03-05 and 05-05 which seems right on my 05-05 X but they both look differnet plastic case wise, not a huge amount just the back of one is recessed and the other not.
My indy phoned local stealer and he said one part no for front sensors and one for rears but the silly tart didnt ask for the no's

Lol if you want something doing right eh. I would suggest that if that one sensor reacts completely opposite the other 3 then its knackered. Only way to test that is buy getting a new one if BMW scanner isn't showing as a fault, or borrowing one if you know anyone else nearby with compatible model. Ask parts dept if they will accept a return if it doesn't resolve the fault. They may have a restocking fee though or you could sell on eBay. My suspicion is a dud sensor though.
Re: Level Sensor Voltage
I think I will get one as you said it sounds a bit suspect, ill have a new friggin X in a minute.

Level Sensor Voltage
Worth asking about returns though. If it don't solve anything you can get your money back or most of it
Re: Level Sensor Voltage
I dont really want to as my indy has been working through this susp inac thing and he has returned so many parts for me and saved me £1000s and been very kind on the labour so on somethign like this I feel I should play the game so to speak and pay my way... good karma and all that

I'm in South West Cornwall and I know what you mean I sometimes can look a tad disheveled but have done ok for myself but if I ever need a dealer sourced car I will drive to the next closest. I am not the brightest bulb in the box academic wise but done ok as I have a personality and all those plonked don't that's why they are driving the crap there driving

Re: Level Sensor Voltage
Just changed the sensor on the front left, the one that had opposite voltage to the other three and guess what it still works opposite to the other three. My indy and local stealer both are unsure if this is right or wrong so if anyone with twin axle air goes near an autologic please could you check as I am sure there is something fishy going on
