help required I had a test drive in an E70 on Friday 3.0d se which seemed a bit slow too move up the gears when being gunned compared with my E53 2004 3.0d sport & only reached 4000 rpm before changing up . Everything else was fine but are the Twin turbo cars the same ?

Re: bmw e70 5d or 4.0d
That was exactly the feeling I had when test driving the 30d, felt very much slower then my old E53 d. That was the reason I got the 40d in the end as I did not want to go backwards in power.

The 40d is definitely no slouch....
But mine only uses all the rpm if the selector is in 'Sport'......then look out speed limit.....as it will crack it with several gears left to play with. I'm not saying how fast mine has been....

The 3.0d can be tuned to over 300bhp with 700 nm of torque
It would be interesting to put up a remapped 3.0d against a standard 4.0d
