2 Stroke in the Diesel

I have been reading up on adding 2 stroke to the diesel in a ratio of 200:1

With modern low sulphur and 5% bio diesel it would appear that the lubricating properties of the fuel are decreasing. I stumbled across this on my transit forum and have since been adding 2 stroke to the van. So far i have noticed it running slightly smoother, a 10% increase in economy, less squeaking of the EGR and can hear the turbo spinning up more freely. (i think)

Now so far i havent found too much info on adding it to cars with a DPF even though id love an increase in fuel economy but it might be something the E53'ers want to discuss (try at your own risk )

You don't have a DPF on the E53, unless specially fitted afterwards as an option?

Interesting idea though. I'm not sure how much difference it would make to a more finely tuned engine such as fitted to the BMW against that normally found in a Transit. Be interesting to get a before and after on emissions too as well as power output. I can definitely see it being useful for older engines that were never designed to run on ULSD or even B5 or B8 diesel.

Transit has just tipped 101,000 and is now doing the same economy as the 35d
