Headlight Changeover for Europe

Post by 55NF » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:51 pm

Can the headlights on the X5 (2011) be changed over for driving in mainland europe? or do I have to use those stickers ?

Driving to Poland next week and then the South of France in June.

Handbook is in the car but i thought the new zenons had a flat light pattern so that there is no changover on them.........cant guarantee that though

Dont forget the yellow jackets and the breathalyser kits for france though.

Headlight Changeover for Europe

Post by Rusty » Mon Apr 30, 2012 8:06 am

Breathalyser is in from June (I think) but is not being enforced until November. Odd I agree but I have read that in a couple of places. With regard to hi vis, I read also that it is only required by law for the driver, warning triangle is a must but bulb kit not legal requirement but recommend as driving with a light out is illegal. The French are an odd bunch.
Is this how others read it too?
Please feel free to correct if I'm talking outa my arse :)

From our very own Forum

Also note that speed camera detectors are illegal too... :(
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Same in Spain. No radar detectors
A bulb kit two triangles and two hi vis jackets min and they must be accessible from inside the car.
