New tyres on Wednesday....

Post by mattchubb1 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:17 pm

Evening,

ok so on Wednesday we had 2 front tyres put on our X3... as they were getting close to the limits... whilst it was in having them done - they mentioned to my wife that there was some uneven wear and would she like to have the tracking done... so she did.

Anyway today as i'm walking back to the car i noticed something white on the inside of the rear tyres!! it was the thread on one of the tyres!!! :( now surely if the tyre place sorted the tracking they should have told my wife how bad the rear tyres were!?!?!

Bit annoyed that I guess i didnt notice.... and the fact that they let my wife drive off with the tyres in such a bad state! Its booked in for Monday at the same place to have 2 rears put on - and to face the rath of my wife :)

Anyway rant over! :)

Indeed. Next thing, what if they do the tracking wrong if they're that incompetant.

Thanks for the comments... Yeah I am a bit reluctant to go back there, but they were also the only garage to supply tyres on Monday... And with pregnant wife about to drop, I want to get tyres on the car before it goes pop!

I was thinking about getting wife to ask about the tracking to be done.... Then once they have done it.... Ask if it was out by much... Then start kicking up a fuss...

I don't know.... Either way just want to get the cheap tyres of the rear and get some half decent ones on there!

I'll save my story about a well know tyre fitter for now.

I think that is shocking. I'd be having a go and certainly not giving anymore of my hard earned.
