Warranty Direct?

Post by Cannondale » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:34 pm

Been thinking of getting a waranty for the X and Warranty Direct seem to be the best of a mixed lot of reviews that I have found on other forums. There doesnt seem to be many posts on here about them, maybe X drivers feel more confident than Treg drivers do?

I have been offered their Extra Care for £990 for 24 months.

Does anyone have and good or bad points to share?

Must admit I have though of just putting £1000 in a back account and forgetting about it unless the X needs it. I am mainly worried about expensive stuff like the gearbox. Not as bothred about stuff I can do myself or that costs a few hundred ££'s as that it normal car spends IMHO.

Yeah I think you might be better putting money aside! knowing my luck the car would run fine and break day after warranty runs out.

I was speaking to a garage and they said the best company they found was the AA. Said they don't put a limit on how many claims you do a year. and they just send a cheque for the value.

Worth a look maybe?

This thread might help you make a decision.. :)

I think it's safe to say the jury is still out. If you do go with them, play 'hard to get' as their price might come down...

I didn't bother in the end. After a little more clarification and the fact I've just hit 100k miles so there cover decreases proportionally I figured I'll just keep some money aside and hope for the best.

I had a Warranty Direct deal on my VW EOS (my X3 is due Sept) - as I was concerned if the roof mechanism went wrong. I was able to negotiate with them to fully cover the roof system at a fixed monthly price held foe 3 years. I never needed to claim so cannot advise on that aspect - Eos gone now part exed for X3.
