Nothing exciting, just bought enough stamps to see me out
Can't get a 30% return anywhere else so thought might as well. Just need to get some new friends to send Christmas cards to otherwise I will still be using them when I celebrate my 80th birthday

Re: Best investment
If it was at the new price, it would not be an investment
Price goes up by 30% in a week or so.

Re: Best investment
Will they still be valid then? I though the PO put a UV marker on to show what price the stamps were face valued at the time of purchase?

Re: Best investment
Valid until end of days. It just says "first" and "second" on it.
I also checked it at the post office just to make sure.

From Royal Mail website:
>>
Stamps without a specified monetary value are described as Non Value Indicator (NVI) and are typically first and second-class stamps.
These do not have an expiry date, therefore can be used regardless of the length of time you've had them.

Yes have heard a lot of people trying to make a quick buck on this. However, everybody does it then surely there won't be a demand and therefore becomes personal use anyway!!! I just find the franking machine at work is much easier!!!
Re your last sentence, did you only get a years supply then!?!?

Re: Best investment
You can just imagine eBay being flooded with them, obviously the postage price will go up.
Re: Best investment
Never understood how CostCo could sell them cheaper either.

Re: Best investment
But franking machine only gives 2p discount per stamp, and with the 30% increase, the machine will just go quicker through your balance!
I got rid of my Pitney Bows unit as I was just not using it enough anymore and the maintenance charge which is forced upon you outweight any savings.

If it's not yours then......and it wasn't.......
We just paid for the stamp, not the rest as the office already had the hardware...
