E70 Rear Wiper Fitted to my E53!

Personally think it looks excellent and well worth it.....but then I would...lol.

The thing is, on a lot of our older motors the spring is a bit knackered and so doesn't work too well so if it needs replacing anyway then why not upgrade it.

I think it is a massive improvement over the old style arm and blade.

Each to their own though. I see peeps waste £50 a week every Friday down the pub or on cigarettes.

It's all good though. I'm still trying to find an upgrade for the fronts. The E70 ones are too long and I've even been round quite a few models at Sytners with a measuring tape checking too....lol

Nah I have a set of Bosch Aero Flatblades for the fronts

I also know someone at BMW and was able to get a small discount on the parts



It was still by no means cheap, but I think it just looks miles better and I like the fact that it's still Genuine BMW equipment. I actually did consider the eBay one above, I even hovered my mouse over the 'Buy it Now' button, but I just couldn't help but be reminded of the Citroen Saxo I had 10 years ago

Whilst trawling through old posts for info i found this mod which looks a good one. I'll be ordering the bits soon but thought i'd bump it to allow other recent new owners to check it out too.

This wasn't an OEM E70 piece - it was off eBay.

Now have the E70 OEM piece fitted and got that for £20 off eBay.  ;D

Not OEM - save a search for used ones. Or you'll have to bite the bullet (but call Cotswolds to get a forum discount).

Just done the same last week, got the OEM copy ( i think ) of ebay for £20, looks fine and quality is good.My only slight issue at the moment is that it is leaving a gap when the blade wipes.But it just needs a little tweaking to bend it to make it sit flat on the screen.

dan123ben how did your ebay one turn out ?

I took my E53 one off, cleaned it, wd40'd it, put a brand new blade on it, and to be honest it still misses a small section at the top of the arc of the blade

So that was money wasted, so I am now considering the E70 version.

Firstly, do the E70 versions work PERFECTLY or can they be prone to missing bits ?
Secondly, will the OEM E70 version fit my E53 with the current E53 thread and bolt, or do I need any other adaption required ?
Thirdly, do the cheaper (dan123ben) eBay items work as well as an OEM ?

Any photo's would be appreciated, especially with dirt/water showing the cleaning area, rather than spotless cars which show no detail of the actual useability of the wiper/blade

As the weather is already turning (I know its only August) this is something I would like to get right for a change
