Looking for some 'scanner' help if possible.

Post by sapphireblack » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:50 pm

Is there anyone i wonder relatively near to me, (postcode TN6) with a scanner and half an hour to spare sometime soon?

The thread i started on tyre pressure sensors is irritating me now. The link posted by a member to a Chinese scanner seller means waiting quite a while for it and paying pretty hefty postage too. What looks the same item from the UK, i am assured by that seller won't do what i want done, i.e. switch of the tyre pressure warning display and gong!

I'm obviously happy to remunerate any willing helper in any way acceptable ;)

i live in NW London, so nowhere near but happy to help.

I bought the Scanner 1.4 from a uk supplier (on eBay). if you can find me a screenshot of where the checkbox should be to turn it off i can check if i have it.

Scanner 1.4 is software so i don't see how the UK version can be different from the Chinese version.

This one is recommended as per the thread here, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260724901876? ... 1519309680

This is the UK seller who states his will not do what i want done http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-1-4-1-4-0 ... 19cf87b483

I'll PM JonW and see if he will put up a screen capture picture 8-)

I have a 1.4.0 scanner at BN27 postcode. But I won't get back from the US for a couple of weeks.

That is certainly an option from my point of view if not resolved sooner.

Thanks :)

The difference in total price between the uk and chinese seller is only a few quid. The uk seller has said his scanner doesn't do what you want or he doesn't know (different software?).

I've told you in some detail that the one from the chinese seller does switch off check control messages and I've carried out this operation within the last few days.

I don't see what the issue is here I've pointed you in the direction of a cheap fix for a problem that was costing hundreds. :D

The issue, if there is one, is the delay in posting from China, when if all scanners are supposedly equal, a UK sourced one would be quicker.

I regard myself as suitably chastised but thank you for the picture anyway.

Mine arrived in about 10 days. I would doubt if these are all equal depending on origin and who copied what software.

On the one I have it's under LCM.

I've never seen that screen. so does that mean there are different versions of Scanner 1.4.0 software out there or is it dependent on the ODB II connector?

thanks

Hi Pav, I could be wrong but I think it will just depend on what software has been sent with the cable.
