New owner.

Post by JonW » Sun Apr 08, 2012 12:57 am

Hi all,

Had my x5 for a couple of weeks now so time to say hello!!

4.6is in imola red with matching alcantara interior.

Image

This is the only pic I have at present but will add some soon.

Really enjoying the x5 but the fuel economy isn't great compared to the 1.6 LPG Astra it replaced! Should i be concerned? LOL!!!

Cheers JonW

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking car, rare colour too. Well it is around here.

Concerned? Only for your bank balance lol. Going from a 1.6 to a 4.6V8 is never going to be good - would be the understatement of the week! :P

Typically you're going to see 20's, and if 'enthusiastic' with the go pedal, teens. But then I don't suppose you bought it for economy as you would have joined us in the oil burner fraternity :D

Thanks for the comments everyone!!

I was looking for a 4.6is with the lpg conversion already done then my mind drifted towards a 4.8 when this 4.6 turned up locally. The colour really grab my attention so much so that the lpg conversion was completely forgotten about and the deal was done. So far no issues have turned up that I didn't know about before buying the car (touch wood) so it's all good.

That's really nice but now unfortunately you'll have a new friend in pvr because of the Z with the limited body kit (it looks like). I feel for you, just put up with him, he tends to go away after a while...

Right, let's talk mods! What you got planned for it?!?

Yes i've seen pvr over on the z forum.

Nothing to drastic in the way of moding. I'll extend the exterior red and black theme with new black grills, badges and possibly get the wheels done black. Interior wise I think the silver trims need toned down so i'll probably go for a carbon fiber look. I've been looking at getting the tv converted to digital but after looking at some of the other threads on the subject it may not be worth the bother/expense.

Edit

plus some front wheel arch extensions (i thought all is models had them but not this one) and wheel spacers.

I thought so too but looking at google images it seems that is models without side steps don't have front arch extensions as standard.

Welcome and really nice looking X. I love Imola Red and so reminds me of Kav's base motor.

You are right about front arch extensions too. Not present on non running board examples.

Like what you've got planned. I do have some nice rims for sale if you're interested and they can come with some nice all black centre caps and Eibach 20mm spacers.....lol
