Belated welcome to the 4.8is brigade - its not the best colour though :D because mine is ;)
I absolutely love mine - a joy to drive even if it costs a fortune to fill up and keep warrantied etc etc. :driving: :driving:

Funny the fuel doesn't bother me got a 300tdi discovery that does about 22mpg (pump fettled) and had a
Remapped s4 which did 21 so it's not that bad fuel wise.

Now mechanical issues may be different discovery never goes wrong changed oil and filter 3 times in 100k now on 130k and overdue a cambelt but it's fine.

Funny washed x5 3 times in 2 weeks washed discovery about 10 times in 10 years and felt so guilty I washed the headlights after washing the x5

I would stick to once a year with Disco, it'll allow it to dry out inside again...... :D

I do get ice on the inside of the windscreen when it's cold :-)

I must get around to spraying my grills silver every time I see X5Drivers picture it reminds me to get it done it looks so much better than the black ones on my car.

I do think it works well with our colour x's, sure you'll get there soon braver than me as i always worry about painting anything especially plastic stuff

Did mine 2 years ago - no special paint used and I didn't key the grille to take the paint. Still on there and miles better than in black.

looking good there B5 TEW, however been as though mine are currently getting painted gloss black i say silvers rubbish lol
