As a last bit of info - the dealer sold it the day I handed it in.
They did have an interesting story though - I may have told some that when I got the car new, it had a paint defect on the bonnet (looked like brake fluid had leaked on it or so, visible under the clear coat in artificial light). That was resprayed (my mistake, should have rejected the car).
Not happy with respray, so they did it again and after 5 years - stone chips at the front started to bubble / rust. I mentioned that on the meet in Bristol as well when I was checking other X5s, none of them having stone chips /rust issues.
Chandlers (where I traded the car in) resprayed the bonnet front for the new owner and told me that Vines had actually replaced my bonnet and it was a RED one. Interesting how they could just do that and replace a bonnet without telling me ...
