Hello Everyone

Post by richardkingsley » Tue Apr 03, 2012 12:43 pm

Hi Just thought i would say hello! Just got a 2010 x5 35d msport after spending weeks deciding between q5 and x3!.

Actually went to local dealer to order the x3 and when i realised i was paying more for the new x3 with a basic spec than a loaded x5, or that our kids couldnt sit behind me in the back changed my mind.

We went for a march 2010 x5 35d in sapphire black with 13k miles. Totally loaded spec, active steering, active ride, adaptive lights, leather dash, dab,tv,nav, soft close doors, latest idrive , top view camera, power boot, panoramic roof, comfort seats, 4 zone air, 20inch wheels and service plan till march 2015.

Totally blown away by car, power is passive and so glad did't get the audi or x3.

Thanks for great community, answered many of my pre purchase questions.

Welcome ! Looks like a fantastic spec you have there !!

I was also looking at the Q5, but was totally put off by the attrotious lag they all had - presumably from the trasmission or could've been the turbos...

Welcome aboard. Definitely the wiser choice in getting a loaded E70 than a new X3, albeit the new X3 is almost as big as the old E53, and the 6-cyl version is very quick! The options push the price up very quickly as I found when I specced one up a few weeks back. The Audi 'Q' range just doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't even look good IMHO of course - by a VW Touran or Ford Galaxy if you want a 'bus'.

That is some spec, and I bet you got a much better price than you would get on the X3 for which there are hardly any discounts available.

Need to see the pics of course :D
