scanner 1.4 broke my clock

Post by gadgetJunky72 » Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:13 pm

Hi folks,

well ok. it didn't break it i did.

i thought i'd try the GPS / RDS sync options on the IKE module. Things were working fine until the clocks went forward an hour and they didn't in the X5. Every time i manually move the hour forward it re-syncs and is an hour behind again.

I've tried unchecking the options using the scanner tool but it still keeps on syncing to something.

anyone had this before or know of a way to reset changes made using the scanner tool?

Thanks

Pav

I would just like to say :rtfm:
Did you press set then adjust time then press set again to confirm adjustment .
No scanner or tools required to do this , only a normal function of the car clock .

yep. the time does get set for a while, but then re-syncs somehow and returns to 1 hour before.

How long is 'a while'?

New one on me too. I didn't think the clock synced with anything, or is even connected to any other car function. As the man says, it's just a clock :scratchhead:

Even the latest models with all their toys and DAB radios etc still don't sync automatically.

Do you have an Intravee? That is the only unit I know that controls the clock via GPS.

yep. i've got an Intravee with the extras.

I think it's happened because i ticked a checkbox on the IKE module called GPS-clock and unchecking hasn't undone this change.

i've got the Intravee user guide so i'll have a look if that might be the reason why.

Got to be worth a punt. GPS clocks run in UTC which makes sense given the hour shift you keep seeing.
