I think US Military Law applies within the confines of the base doesn't it? Although it's called RAF.........and has an RAF Station Commander, that's about as far as it goes from a UK jurisdiction. Last time I was at Mildenhall they even drove on the wrong side of the road - mind you that was back in the 80's. Arriving by Chinook and being driven around was a hell of a lot safer.... :D

You may find that the base itself is OK, but other areas such as the family quarters may have restrictions placed on them once the deal is agreed with Anglian Water. No doubt you'll get it in Station Orders, or whatever USAF calls them. I'm in the same water supplier area, and as yet have been told nothing by them. Their website just says it's bringing in hosepipe bans from 5th April, but not in which exact areas. So it will be a case of take your cars to the aircraft wash bays, or borrow a fire engine ..... :D

Got myself a 220l tank now with a tap that connects straight to the 'Hozelock' type connectors. Just 'plug and play' now for the pressure washer. It's also connected to the down pipe off one of the roofs just in case it should actually condescend to rain around here.

Took a while to get a tank as demand seems to have rather affected supply around here. Eventually got one delivered - from Leeds!

Bought a bottle of something that stops the water going all green and nasty too

Tank full - well I had to check it for leaks now, didn't I?

Which leads me to the following point: In the small print, it states you are not allowed to use a barrel filled with water supplied by the water company.

Bit of a random statement, as nobody can prove / determine exactly when you filled the barrel and if you do it before the ban, it would not be "illegal" (not sure how taking a supply form a private company could ever be unlawful, but there you are ....).

Busy weekend ahead with washing all the cars "legally" for the last time. At least the X5 will be cleaned in NL where there has never been a water shortage, as the country is surrounded by the sea. Oh, wait ...

And East Anglia. North & South Yorks now have drought orders but no bans. So it's spreading!
