My final set of Wheels...

Post by Raj » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:26 pm

Well a deal was done on Thursday on what I believe will be my final set of alloys for the X. I have hankered after a set of these for I don't know how long and finally a very close friend offered them to me.

He bought them 9 years ago to put on his X5 at the time but never did and they been sat in the back of his unit all this time.

Have ordered a new set of centre badges from my parts lady at BMW to finish them off.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement as Sanj is aware...lol

So the pics:

Wheels and ride height look absolutely spot on

Best set out of the 3 different wheels I've seen on your car. What size combo you running?

Cheers guys.

The rims are 10x21 fronts with 285/35/21 and 11.5x21 rears with 325/30/21.

12mm spacers are a possibility but we'll see.

Cheers paaji. Fronts and rears all sit just in line with where the arch extensions start so pleased with that. That pic I sent you was a little misleading hence why rears looked narrower.

Cheers Lee. The exhaust was an excellent purchase. Really helps the rear view of the motor.

Very nice wheels..

A friend of mine had something very similar on an Alpina 5-series (B5 is it called?) which he had from age 20, about 20 years ago. How he insured it I don't know, but it was a lovely car.

I take you'll now drive in the middle of the road to avoid any 'close encounters' with a vicious evil-minded kerb, and always take up two parking spaces... :poke: :D

Cheers.

The B5 were/are lovy motors. In fact I do really like Alpina's take on BMWs.

The D3 comes with Dynamics too and again they just look so right.

Lol. There is certainly an extra level of caution but then I'm like that anyway even with standard rims...lol

Pmsl. Definitely not this time. Definite keepers and my mate also insisted on them staying.
