Got the chance to buy a car but has a proplem with the radio.
2003 x5 3.0d with satnav has no sound the bloke who's car it is says they is 2 types of amp one can be repaired one can not is this right.

Pre-facelift have BM24 and some very late pre-facelift plus facelift have BM54. Both can be repaired. No more than £175, reckon yours will be the latter and possible DIY. Google search BM24 repair.
