17 inch E70 winter alloys on facelift E53 4.4 sport?

Afternoon all, for reasons too long winded to explain I have a set of OEM 17 inch alloys for an e70 shod with new winter tyres will they fit my shortly to arrive e53 sport?

Yup 17 inch official bmw winter wheels that looked distinctly weedy on my wife' s e70 that during the summer had 20 inchers

In which case my BMW dealer owes me some wedge! FWIW it looked weedy but rode very well however high speed stability was nowhere near as good in crosswinds.

Title says E53.... So is it an E53 facelift or a >2007 E70?

Coat aside - the question still is whether an E70 from which the winter wheels come, were ever available on the E70 as I am not sure they would be E70 units?

They were sold by my BMW dealer as a winter promotion and are stored by them as part of the programme so they'll struggle to avoid responsibility if you are correct, they were fitted to my wife's 4.0d msport but I px'd against a new 7 at a different dealer hence me having them 'left over' !

Well, I could be wrong of course, but I was 99% sure that 17" would no way fit an E70 40D ...

maybe find out what style they are or take some pics for us and we might be able to help but it certainly seems strange (if not a little suspicious) to be trying to put 17" wheels on a 40d

Oops have now confirmed they are 18 inch style 177 alloys but with a code ET 46 vs ET 45 for the same dimension wheel for the E53 so I'm guessing the offset is slightly different?

Thanks squeaky2,didn't see your posts before I posted! My main dealer parts guy is raising a query with BMW re what the chance of them fitting my E53 is.
