Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
"X5Sport" I'm glad you pointed that out luckily I didn't upload any naughty pictures otherwise it would of scared you for life! lol but I will have a look for some decent pictures of the car.
"brewer" SOS is probably how you remembered it but probably much worse now

... Ha ha yes TOTS is still there, spent many drunken nights in there same as you no doubt but it's renamed just to TALK now.
Bought the car in May 2011 after I sold my 330ci Convertible and fancied a nice upgrade.
It's a 2002 on a "52" 60k miles back then now just hit 70k.
I spent ages looking for a nice low mileage estoril blue one with all the top specs.
It has the DSP upgrade, electric and heated rear seats which I found was pretty rare when I was looking.
I found the standard exhaust system a little quiet so I had the rear boxes custom made which releases that lovely V8 roar but unfortunately as I live in the boy racer capital of Essex I didn't want it sounding too loud as I'm not one of those 17 year old's with his mums drainage pipe on the back of his Citroen Saxo so I am hoping I have achieved my goal by not making mine sound that loud.
I have been doing a bit of reading on here on the remaps and seen positive feedback so will be giving Jason a call at "B W Chiptune"
The cars hasn't been that nice to me recently.
Today my X5 is currently in the BMW stealership for its inspection 2 (I didn't want to take it there but needed the stamp

)
But It also has other problems at the moment where it is under powered at above 3,500rpm and would not idle but had no error codes or EML light.
The only error found was Code 48 "torque converter lock up clutch excessive slip" so unfortunately I shed out £750 for a new lock up clutch to be fitted last week as we believed that to be causing the issue.
Only downside was I got the car back and the problem was still exactly the same.
Bit annoying but suppose it's one of those things.
So as it needed a service I though I would get them to diagnose it and after a few test drives they phoned me today and said its your MAF sensor which is at fault (which is quite annoying actually because I even checked that a few weeks ago but it looked pretty clean so I didn't think anything of it) so they said oh we can supply and fit a new one for £450+vat + the inspection 2 @ £459 so nearly a grand in total! So I asked how much the part was on its own and they said £300+vat I thought he was telling me a joke but he wasn't! So I just said just do the service 2 plus diagnostic and I will do it myself.
So am hoping the car has been dropped back once I get back from work tonight and will start by spraying contact cleaner on the MAF sensor to see if that helps and if not I will buy another one but not at £300+vat.
I've seen Bosch ones on flebay for around 90-100 is that the standard one brand does anyone know?
So that is my X5 life story since I've owned it I'm sorry for boring the hell out of you all!
Thanks
James
