Webasto heater test software
Post by DevonX5 » Thu Mar 08, 2012 6:00 pm
Hi guys
Long story short my diesel heater does not work (dont worry not asking why) so i decided to buy the test equipment off ebay. Got it today and downloaded latest software from Webasto but for some unknown reason it will not communicate with the heater. It trys to as I can see the WTT initialization bar attempting and usb module lights up but no go....
Im starting to think the actual electronics on the heater are shot?
My question is has anybody used this test equipment/ Webasto software?
Thanks

Not yet but mines not working anymore. BMW scanner shows "auxiliary heater" but doesn't go into detail. It should have come on this morning with it being below 7c but it didn't. I will be trying it out myself after I've checked the fuses, although I need to know which ones to check first

I have a webasto that doesn't work, a reslers unit and the sw. Just not had the time to test, hopefully this weekend. But then intravee comes first!

Probably using diffrent test equipment here. The bmw scanner 1.4 is not what im on about. I have the actual webasto plug in comms kit which enables me to set co2 settings, turn fuel pump on and prime fuel line etc etc. the bm scanner wont do that. This kit is what the webasto engineers use. Im interested in why my heater wont talk to it at present and if anyone else has used it before. Thinking my heater pcb might be gone. Good thread on 75 club about glue becomming corrosive and destroying pcbs
Thanks anyway

No Devon I know, I didn't make myself very clear. I have an issue with mine and was showing an error on BMW scanner 1.4.0 but it doesn't go into detail. I have the webasto software and a resler which I can use to run the software. I was gonna use that to find the problem. However after checking the fuses it looks like I forgot to put it back in hence the fault, so I will retry BMW scanner first to see if the fault has now cleared. If not I'll be hooking up the webasto software. I've also seen that thread about pcb boards, if you have it to hand it may be worth posting a link in case it helps someone here.

The guy to talk to is fench mike. I have not spoken to him yet but other bimmer forums have talked about him. Seems he is the guy in the know for repairing pcbs.
Yeah no worries thought we were crossing wires there for a moment - cool cheers
Looks like im going to pull the pcb out later due to;
No comms
No start when 12v applied to pin1
Tried factory reset procedure to unlock heater - no good
All fuses ok
Fenj66 used scanner to set up heater function on screen - worked great but still wont fire up
Almost ready to give up to be honest. Bloody thing

Alright fenj
If you need my webasto scanner - feel free to ask mate - owe you one still. That should give us an idea why it stopped working?
