As for detailing, etc, I use menzerna polishes, carlack as a sealant and a variety of waxes depending upon paint colour and time of year.

Always snowfoam and use megs gold for washing.

Thanks Raj......a search for Snowfoam lead me to 'The Ultimate Finish'! That is one comprehensive range of detailing products and tools. I think I could spend a LOT of wonga in there. £800 for a pot of car wax! No I didn't buy it, but that would need to be some serious wax to spend that much.

I use a DAS6 pro with menz polishes topped with Dodo Juice Limeprime and Supernatural wax and FinishKare #425 after every wash.

I've just helped a friend do his Schimitar with Wolf Chemicals nano coating and it looks amazing

I buy the majority of my stuff from Tim at Clean Your Car.

TWO GRAND! for Wax! I don't care if it does come with lifetime refills and you can probably put it on toast and eat it! That's serious money for a bit of shine.......unless of course you do actually have a 1947 MkVI Bentley.

PMSL. I do know what you mean. I actually used Royale on my previous 530d and that comes in at £8K a tub....

I take it you asked for a sample 'just to see if it was any good' and gave the rest back then....... :D

Yet to be convinced there isn't a massive extortionate mark up over manufactur cost on these mega price waxes.....still if there is a market I can certainly see why they would sell it.

Lucky for me I did not pay anything for it. Dave at Sportscar Protection uses it and he kindly allows me to use it on the 530d. I could never justify the cost. It does come in a very nice solid glass case and when he purchased it it came with lifetime refills.

BUT as with everything, I do believe there is a point of diminishing returns where the additional cost does not guarantee any better a product.

So many other waxes that will provide just a good a protection layer and depth of shine as the expensive waxes for under £50 a tub.

Just used some Valet Pro 'Bilberry' safe wheel cleaner on the M Sport wheels on our E46. All I can say is Wow!! Spray it on, wait 5 mins and clean with a pressure washer (at medium, not even full power) and all the dirt and brake dust just comes straight off! We both hated cleaning those wheels because of all the narrow slots and crannies. This spray on stuff makes it a piece if p..s. smells nice too. :D

Snowfoamed the car too, and it is easier to clean the worst dirt off before taking a more careful tack with the next clean cycle. Mind you, it's like having a portable airport crash tender foam gun if you get the foam mix settings a bit 'strong'.

Well I had to try out my new pressure washer didn't I.... :D
