Salt Cleaning - useful tool
Re: Salt Cleaning - useful tool
Sanj, I hope you've been taking running training from Mr Bolt, otherwise you're likely to get more than wet next time you get caught.....

That's his stage name......Lance Extender.
Has a certain ring to it don't you think?
@pvr, you'll need some additional solutions as you only get enough for one shot with this tool (2x 250ml bottles). The Karcher Storage Rack I think you referred to looks as if it is available in the UK from their outlet shop. Mind you it's £36!!

Re: Salt Cleaning - useful tool
X5Sport - I paid €20 for it in NL, £36 is madness.
My main garage project is coming along nicely though, just made the wall construction around the heating pipe work ready for the finished wall boarding. Also found a floor tile supplier and once complete, can finally finish the inside.
Mrs PVR not too keen on the costs of the wall cabinets though ...

Re: Salt Cleaning - useful tool
Used the tool for the first time on Saturday. Really simple to use and easily gets at all of the underside of the car. Did both the X6 and the Mini. Do not use it on a hot car though! The rinsing spray jet tool really isn't mechanically any different from their T300 Patio cleaner turned upside down (Tip - it does provide a very good vertical column spray so don't get close when you press the trigger if it's fully exposed! Would do a good job as a mega-bidet!). Got a fair amount of sand and grit off the underside of both cars. It took less than an hour to wash, rinse and apply the protection spray to both cars. As it's all mounted on wheels it needs very little effort. The applicator is just a fan spray snow foam type nozzle. The rinse spray jet unit is height adjustable so works just as well on the X5/X6 as it does on your local 'low rider'. A much better tool than the 'Lance'.

Good to hear, have not used mine yet but will do in the not too distant future.
Mrs X5Sport allowed you out to play then or was it a "don't come back and complain it hurts" type send off

As a severe cabin fever sufferer (unless on Diazepam in which case I don't care) Saturday was a 'better day' and there was a fair amount of desperation on my part, and some of the latter on hers - although she did come out and ask why I'd only done the X6 and not her Mini as well?! No sympathy there at all then.
For those with a more recent Karscher than mine (ancient and slowly failing 1990's vintage K620M)) can you refill these new fangled 'plug and clean' detergent bottles? £9 a bottle is expensive!
I quite fancy a new X Series K6.800 Eco!ogic machine.

The new Karschers come with all the detergents in a pre-filled bottles which you take the lid off, turn upside down and just 'plug' into a receptacle. The top 'appears' to be locked on by a one-way ratchet. It looks as if they are not designed to be refilled, but that sounds like a challenge to me...

Re: Salt Cleaning - useful tool
Mine too, but the chemical tank control has seized up. Looks like repairing it might be a bit of fun even with the exploded diagrams. Spares are about but it's hard to tell exactly which bits are needed (at present). Might have to take it to bits and some parts are expensive. Certainly needs new valves etc, hence looking for a newer one in case the repairs get silly.
