I bought a 5l pack of Wonder Wheels last time Halfrauds had a special offer on it last year as it works a treat on the running boards - mine look like they have a bad case of measles again, but waiting for the weather to settle before all that hard work is wasted!!! I haven't found a really good sealant, though, so just resigned myself to redoing the boards every spring..........

As others, wonder wheels is your best bet. Doesn't effect the rubber grommets (which are available from the dealer individually) and brings them back to life.

Mine were bad before i took the decision to do them gloss black.

as above with painting them, on my old x5 i removed the boards, pulled all the gromets out sanded, primed and painted with alloy wheel silver i then had 11 months of perfect condition running boards as they never corroded again!! :D
