Salt Cleaning - useful tool

Post by X5Sport » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:22 am

As we are now hopefully close to the end of the winter tyre season, that also means the end of the salt season. Salt being nasty corrosive stuff, especially in the presence of water, so it's a really good idea to get rid of the stuff. With the recent number of folks suffering brake pipe corrosion it's time to get serious about cleaning below as well as above.

Not seen these until a few days back, but this little toy landed on my doormat today........courtesy of Karcher.

Available for around £80, but likely to save you a whole lot more.

Shop (not trying to advertise them at all) video of how it works here:

Excellent, another toy to add to the Karcher collection :)

When I was in NL a month or so back, I bought some additional fittings there for mounting all the Karcher add-ons on the wall (very nice bracket structure). Never seen it in the UK so it became another must - have type purchase :D

This will be added as well, as it is a very good bit of kit to have.

Or you can be a tight git like me and get one of these, but understand you two are getting on a bit so the thought of getting on your knees would be so rude...

But you don't get the applicator with that :poke:

I bought the drive cleaner tool as well, previously I used the extended lance but ended up soaking wet and covered in mud from head to toe

You two have an excuse for anything! PVR you keep your extended lance remarks to yourself, this is a public forum!

I too got soaked by my Karcher - the wife was holding the other end...

I did ask her to clean the drive just before that and to 'know her place' - I couldn't run fast enough. :?

Left ours boxed so HRH can unpack her new toy later. Based on Sanj's 'difficulties' I think I'll remain well out of range..
