Hello All,
The name's KT_MrsA, I currently drive a 3.0i X3 2005 auto. We have had BMW's for years, before that it was Toyotas (mine was the MR2 mk 2 rev 5, n/a, I loved that car and my user name MrsA comes from her, it's still around town!) and before that the inevitable bangers from my youth which were mostly Fords with an old land rover thrown in to teach me how to do engines! I have been accused of being a bit of a petrol head, but now the need for space for car seats and buggies rules out sports cars!
The X3 was the first 4x4 BMW I had ever had and I bought the uneconomical engine as the car was sooo much cheaper than the diesel version! I love the ride height but unless you are sooo careful with the accelerator it seems to drive permanently in whiplash mode.
I have posted a question in the forum about MAF as I think mine is on the blink!
My other half is currently driving a borrowed X5 (nice for some!) and is most likely going to be buying himself one soon. So any tips would be great, he's already 100% decided on the diesel!
We are in the North of Scotland and I should hold my hand up and say that I am a HUGE winter tyre fan, I have lived all over the world and driven in horrendous conditions and winter tyres have saved me soo many times. I bought a new set of Vredestein Wintrac xtremes on cheapy alloys when I got my X3 and they are superb
Lovely to meet you all and look forward to some interesting tips and good banter!!

Hello !!
Can't beat them wintrac extremes. I have a set on 17" alloys for winter and there currently on the car. That reminds me, I must get my 19" ones refurbed soon, before I need them.
If I remember rightly (been a busy couple of days for me) you were looking for an independent specialist in the Aberdeenshire area?
