Steering Wheel trim

Post by clats » Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:54 pm

Hi everyone,

Any ideas where I can get the trim that goes around the multi function buttons on my 54 plate ? Mine has worn and is looking very tired so needs a change. No joy on ebay either ?

Has anyone ever changed this as well ? if so was it a difficut job, I understand the air bag needs to be disconnected. Main dealer have quoted me £75 all in parts and labour which is pretty cheap but I just wanted to see if its a possibe diy and where I could locate the part apart from main dealer. Thanks

Wow thanks for the quick reply ! Even though thats a very detailed thread I think it may be beyond me as my diy skills are pretty poor ! Any idea where I can get a replacement trim apart from main dealer ?

eBay is a possibility but usually worn.

Part is about £30 from the $tealer. Get it from them.

And the swap over is very easy as you can see - got a mate who's DIY handy? This can be done without having to pay!

Clats my is the same. alot of the black paint has flaked off on the edges. I have been thinking about getting it painted the same colour as the interior trim in the car rather that replace it but not sure if i could do it myself.
