i would say no difference at all, you know you only get the 36mpg eqivalent a petrol will only average 16-21mpg with abit more on a run, you get the saving from the lpg been 70-80ppl, also worth bearing in mind my old petrol lpg x5 did use abit of petrol and also the lpg isnt quite as effient as petrol around 80% i think, if i hadnt of got my diesel i would have gone for the 4.8is lpg as its the best of everything and as you say most of them are fully loaded!!

I am looking for either a V8 or Derv face lift E53 myself still not sure what to go for,
V8 and 20 Mpg or Derv and 26 Mpg

But from what I have read about LPG the V8 will do 2 to 3 Mpg less than Petrol meaning about 18, the saving is the price per litre.

I'd personally go with the 4.8 lpg over the 4.4 lpg. The 4.8 will be negligible difference on fuel consumption but you tend to get better spec.

Hi,i run a 4.8 on LPG and am currently seeing 38mpg on a steady 70mph run on cruise and around 28-29mpg daily driving. As has been quoted on here lpg with a good system is typically 10-15% less efficient than petrol and also make sure you find out the size of the tank, actual fill is 20% less than max volume,my tank is 84l max therefore circa 68l. I can usually see around 230 miles on £50.

u say 38mpg on lpg and that's about 10-15% less than petrol, so you mean to say with petrol your car would have done 40+mpg?? on an E53 with 4.8l?? unlikely!

i think he means it would have done 20 or so but lpg is 1/2 price=double mpg
