Did he give a price if u don't require loom or fitting
Thanks
He didn't but I get the impression what he's getting them for is not far off what he can offer them at. So the fitting and loom may be almost free BUT just phone him and bargain hard buddy. He's always willing to do a deal!
His thoughts though are that the Hualingan is tried, tested and better value for money, the Dynavin MAY be better but no proof with the model offered.
We were trying to get a unit to test and post up about but Dynavin are being super-hard to negotiate with, hence no test.
I've reverted back to my OEM kit as I think my setup is good (OK so I have upgraded speakers and the x555 sub enclosure so it's better than standard) and the Intravee helps with the ergonomics...

Just to add and having forgotten the only reason I posted up for John was because I dealt with him first-hand.
Nothing in it for me but we went through 4 Hualingan unit when I finished posting my thread and he's probably the best for customer service you can get. He WILL NOT rip you off. There is no ifs or buts with this guy - he's dead straight.
If in doubt about the service and not the product, go with this guy for peace-of-mind.

As far as I know it doesn't come with the TV option. They sell the digital TV option for £140 and the reversing camera for the X5 for £60 but I am sure if placing an order with them we could get a good discount on these aswell.
They sell a 3yr warranty for £89.99 and a 4yr warrany for £199.99
I will negioate the best price I can on tv option, camera and extra warranty if I get enough people committed to a group buy.
Thanks

I read on another forum that the dynavin needs an internet (3g) connection for the satnav to work as it uses google maps. Is that correct?

With android, sat nav software can be installed such as igo, navigon etc resulting in no internet connection needed

I thought it would be a stupid design flaw.

Re: Anyone interested in a group buy for Dynavin or Hualinga
Jargon on the Dynavin D99 from the supplier
WHAT WILL I NEED TO INSTALL THE DYNAVIN D99 ANDROID?
If you have the standard stereo in your car then everything you will require is included in the box! If you have the factory fitted navigation with disc drive in the boot then you will require Dynavin extension kit which is available from us. If you have the DSP digital amplifier upgrade then this product will not be compatible with your car.
WHAT FEATURES DOES THE DYNAVIN DVN-E39A D99 FROM THE SUPPLIER COME WITH AS STANDARD?
The Dynavin DVN-E39A D99 ANDROID comes with the following features as standard:
•D99 Premium User Interface
•Radio (FM/AM)
•HD Touch Screen (800x480)
•CD/DVD Player
•GPS (Antenna Included, maps sold seperately on Android Marketplace)
•TMC (included as standard)
•USB Connectivity
•SD Card Reader
•Parrot Bluetooth (External Microphone included)
•iPod Connection/Charging
•AV Input/Output
•Steering Wheel Control (ALL functions: Volume, Menu, Skip, Seek, Phone)
•OBC Display (On Board Computer info displayed on screen)
•WiFi USB Dongle for Internet Connectivity
WHAT ARE THE OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES?
Digital TV-Tuner (DVB-T) is an optional extra which will allow you to view free-to-air digital television channels on your Dynavin unit. The Official Dynavin branded DVB-T (MPEG4) tuner allows you to control the TV features through the touch screen. This option is completely separate from the Dynavin DVN-E39A and can be added at any time after the head unit has been installed. We have this item available.
Reversing Camera is an optional extra which can be added to the Dynavin DVN-E39A. When fitted, the DVN-E39A will display the view at the rear of the car on the screen automatically when the car is put in reverse. This option is completely separate from the DVN-E39A and can be added at any time after the head unit has been installed.
Navigation Maps are required to make use of the GPS navigation ability of the Dynavin DVN-E39A. This system will be compatible with any Windows CE compatible maps which are available from a variety of map suppliers including IGO and SYGIC. These maps can be easily downloaded online and then transferred to an SD card for use on the Dynavin system. Dynavin are an Offcial Sygic Map distributor and we have the very latest SYGIC maps available from us to purchase, pre-loaded on an SD card ready for use. Alternatively you can source you own compatible maps easily online.
WHY SHOULD I BUY THE DYNAVIN DVN-E39A FROM US?
Unlike other sellers we offer a full 12 MONTH parts and labour warranty which we always honor. We have been trading for many years in the mobile electronics market and our customers should feel confident that, if there were any issues with their unit during the 12 month warranty period then we would assist in the repair/replacement of the unit. We have always been an Official Dynavin supplier and as such have extensive technical knowledge we will happily share with our customers. We are able to answer any pre or post-sale questions you may have in order to reassure you that the Dynavin DVN-E39A D99 ANDROID is the right system for you and your BMW.

Re: Anyone interested in a group buy for Dynavin or Hualinga
I have the group buy posted on a total of 5 forums so hopefully this drums up enough interest to progress with the order fairly soon for all interested partys
I am happy enough to go with carvision or the supplier I contacted depending on final price and majority but for me unit price is a big thing as I am based in Northern Ireland and will be fitting myself and the extra loom is not required as I dont have sat nav as standard but I am happy to go with the majority decision

I hope that's not the case! (and I would imagine it isn't) because when I went to pick up my X5, my mate gave me a lift to Birmingham to get it in his Mondeo with no nav system.
We tried my iPhone 4 which was crap, and then my mate's HTC Desire for SatNav, but we kept losing 3G signal on both phones and the Maps were then confusing the hell out of us because it was showing that we were somewhere we weren't and kept spinning around when it picked the signal up again! I never used iPhone or Android as a GPS before then, always having it factory fitted in my car, but it was damn annoying!!
I imagine with the dynavin you will have an external GPS receiver fitted, so hopefully you won't have this problem! I guess the issue with the mobile phones is that they do not have GPS receivers and only go by 3G!
On the subject of Dynavin, I came across their forum the other day which has loads of info and guides on how to do various things which look pretty cool! (I'm hoping that since most of the stuff on there is Win CE, I should be able to also do it on my Hualingan)
http://dynavin.freeforums.org/index.php
I did notice quite a few people on there mentioning screen glare being quite bad, possibly on the older units though. But I'd look into this as I remember some comments of the old Dynavin from the e46zone where people were claiming that the screen was borderline unusable in anything but dark. They have almost certainly made some tweaks to combat this now I would have thought, although an Anti-Glare screen protector might just prevent this anyway.

Re: Anyone interested in a group buy for Dynavin or Hualinga
The cheapest price posted to date is £590 (providing we can get 10 people interested), for me anyway going to carvision at £100 more is off little interest as fitting is not an option (but perhaps that might be the majority's preference).
N1k85 as you have recently purchased the haulingan unit, how does £590 for the Dyanvin D99 platform compare to your haulingan unit (price wise)
Is the extra £££ for the dynavin worth it over the haulingan?
If we decide to go dynavin, I would like to think we can get a VERY big discount on the reversing camera and digiatal TV tuner (if desired for the interested members)
For interested partys, it might be worthwhile posting on your local BMW or car forums aswell as the more people interest then we all save the pounds and if we get more than 10 people interested, it gives us grounds for more discount

It seems like a pretty good discount to me, although I must admit it's still just that little bit too much to pay for a headunit IMO. (For me anyway!... £500 is the mental barrier for me, I just couldn't spend more than that on a car stereo
)
I paid £490 IIRC for mine, but if it was a tenner more I'd probably have gone with the Gen 3 Hualingan instead of my Gen 4 (Gen 3 was £425 I think) I was already unsure about paying £490.
If you can get Digital TV & Maps thrown in then it would be great. Because factor those in, plus the costs of any SD cards to store movies/maps etc. On mine the Micro SD is really the most used feature and is a much better alternative that having DVDs knocking about in your car or USB sticks etc.
I bought a 16GB Micro SD card for about £25 to begin with IIRC, but at the time I didn't understand why some were £25, and some were £80 for seemingly the same card (but different brands).
But after playing a few movies, I realised that the cheap cards are very slow. Not only to copy the movies etc onto from your PC (which takes an age with the slow cards) but also the playback was jumpy and laggy
Since then I invested in a more expensive 32GB Samsung 'High Speed Multimedia' SD Card and it's so much better that the other one (that was made by Lexar). It takes only a few mins to transfer 32GB of movies onto it and it plays on my headunit perfectly with no lag or anything.
Going a bit off topic there, but my main point was to also factor in the cost of a 'Decent' Micro SD card, as well as the Maps and Digital TV stuff. It could end up being expensive and back up to nearer £700 if you don't get the discount. The Nav/TV is included with the Hualingan.
I have never used a Dynavin though TBH, so I can't really compare the two! I imagine the Dynavin is great, as is the Hualingan

just kiddin!
sanj, mine's a oem sat nav mkIV with v32 and new maps, along with bm54 amp and oem cd changer in the boot.
can you tell me what are teh components i can sell, if i go for the hoolio or dyna? i can list:
1. head unit (of course)
2. bm54 rcm?
3. cd changer (not compatible right?)?
4. anything else? - what about the satnav unit, where does that sit? tv receiver?
thing is i have no reason to replace cos i have an aux input fitted and the latest maps, so i'm thinkin of incremental cost if i can sell stuff that become redundent.
