What make are the oem brake pads?

Post by shaunos » Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:23 am

Hi,

I have a pre facelift E53 and was wondering who make the oem brake pads?

I need to change my front pads for the first time soon.
Also, do the pads come with a new sensor or do I need to get them separately?

Cheers,

~Shaun.

I believe it's pagid. You will need to buy sensors separately. One front one rear

I researched this pretty extensively some time ago as I was keen to go for as close to OE as possible without paying bmw prices.

I have just had the following fitted.

Front Pads Jurid 187

Rear Pads Textar T4001

Front Discs Brembo 09.8697.80

Rear Discs Brembo 08.7019.80

Same for all E53 prefacelift & facelift but not 4.6is or 4.8is.

Sensors are bought seperately but originals should be ok if warning lamp not activated.

Eurocarparts sold me the textar T4001 rears for just £27.30 as I used a discount code think mine was PADS30 if not working try searching various forums or enter BRAKES25 for 25%

Thanks for the replies.

Don't have ECP here but do have GSF. Haven't had the front wheels off in a while to check but pretty sure the inside pads are pretty much knackered, will replace at the weekend and check the condition of the wear sensor too, reckon it should be lighting up at this point though... :(

Will probably punt for either Pagid, brembo or texstar depending on what they have in stock....

Cheers,

~Shaun.
