Watching DVDs on pro sat nav screen

Post by MJim » Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:10 pm

Found myself in the car the other day (April 2011 model) with lots of time to kill, so decided to watch the DVD I put in the glovebox for such a time. Bit frustrating that the picture doesn't make full use of the professional sat nav screen size, even after selecting zoom. The picture is actually verging on too small to watch, with a load of unused screen around the picture. Am I missing something here, or is that just the way it is?

That's coz you probably bought them all in the US :poke: :)

If I remember, I'll have a look at the DVD playback on the X6 tomorrow and see what it looks like. I don't have a multichanger, but I know the CIC system has the DVD playback ability too.

Cheers X5Sport. I don't have the multi changer either. I've called the customer 'services' line but still haven't heard back. As I mentioned above there is a zoom function but still only fills part of the screen.

Right, just been out and played with mine.

My settings are Split Screen = Off
On the CD/multimedia Menu (DVD) choices are then to use the 'DVD Menu' choice top of the left options list on screen as this removes the menu list on the left side. This then uses the idrive controller for everything and the text at the top of the screen. Rotate the idrive controller until the choice that says something like 'To exit the menu press the controller' and the text disappears.
Zoom = On. If it's off then a wide screen movie has a black bar top and bottom.

Fills the screen completly on mine. I have the 2010 CIC iDrive (80GB Hard Drive) version, Pro Nav and Pro Sound (with surround) system if that makes a difference.

If you get stuck, I'll try to photograph all my screens.
