To add the new units are now supporting DAB radio - if this is being considered...
Is the the Hualigan Sanj ? I've just ordered mine but wasn't aware of any dab compatibility. Is this a bolt on box like the digi tv tuner ?

Cancel the order. Who did you order with?

New unit will have integrated DAB support!

BUT I don't know if prices will change - thinking not to stay competitive...

Ordered with Icebox audio from Liverpool, it's Mark 4 as far as I know, the same as N1k85 has just fitted. Have you got any links I can check out ?

No links - the DAB support is almost here, already tested (apparently).

You know how 'almost' can mean months but if it's being mentioned the wait may be worth it. Can you cancel...?

I'm sorry my post was perhaps, a bit late. :(

Aah I see. Well seeing as I now have a huge hole in my dash and no sounds at all as I sold my oe unit to finance the new one, I will crack on with my order. Would have have been a nice feature but I'm not that bothered. Keep us posted though, its good to keep up with the tech.

I must admit I'm not massively fussed about DAB either, someone on my Hualingan thread asked me if mine was DAB and I didn't even know at the time! That shows how much I use my radio!

It would be a nice feature to have and show off with, but I would almost never use it. I rarely listen to the radio as it is. I also suspect it's one of those things where it will take a few 'gens' to get it right being a brand new feature and all that. For example it took the Dynavin 2 or 3 years to get the standard radio to an acceptable quality without loads of interference :? that was one of the main complaints.

Likewise with the Digital TV Tuner also tbh, It's a nice feature to have, but in my E46 I must have used the TV Tuner about twice in 2 years... and that was while sitting in a McDonalds carpark for a few minutes. I'm probably not even going to run the TV aerial for my Hualingan, I tried it out with the aerial in my hand and it all seemed good but I can't think of a time where I will be stationary and want to watch TV, it's all about 32GB SD cards baby!

Not sure how good DAB's are at the mo.
I have seen reports that the signal strength isn't all that great and drop outs are common.

32GB SD Cards rule, found an older HDD the other day, 5 1/2" 20GB, I have more memory in my phone lol

I have DAB on the E70 and when it works its great but thats mostly in london.....the rest of the time you tend to get drop outs and spend a lot of time on FM.

DAB is a must for me. I had a Volvo XC60 as a loan car recently (horrible, nasty shed! ).
It had a DAB radio and I was surprised how good it was. Driving from Brighton to Hereford it only lost signal once for about 5 seconds in a very deep cutting.

Ok guys, I just installed it on my E53 2002 navi screen no DSP (old 17 pin in trunk) and I like it! Most of the features work.
Q: Where did you connect your DTV antenna to?

Thanks for your continuous help.
