Back to bmw

Post by percy121 » Fri Jan 20, 2012 11:10 pm

Just saying hello to everyone ,i think its best to introduce myself before i start asking for help . I have just bought a black 54 plate x5 3.0d sport and am highly delighted with it. i know its not a new one but im very happy with it . Theres a couple of little snagging problems that i have sorted and will be sorting out this weekend . Started simple pairing bluetooth with galaxy s2 (no contacts copied but never mind) . jets on the windscreen washers not to good cleaned the little filters . Sat nav hopefully will be updated tomorrow with v32 and new maps . if its dry in the morning one of the front parking sensors is not working so i will have a go at removing bumper and changing the one that dont click fingers crossed it will go well

i dont know that much about cars but all the above jobs i didnt have a clue about until reading on this forum

not very good with with uploading pictures to show x5

but summary

black with black leather wood trim
heated seats
sat nav
bluetooth
19" wheels
a little thing called dension gateway 100 for ipod (not that impressed)

just come from an audi a4 s line 2.0td mpg on x5 not quite as good lol 45mpg down to 25mpg hurts a bit but the comfort is worth the extra money
before that had couple mercedes ml500 17-20 mpg so this is an improvement on that .
before that i had two 3 series bmw

thanks for the help you have all given me already and in the future im sure .

Hi and welcome...

Learned to drive on Audi's back in the 1970's. SWMBO won't let me own one now. Summat to do with them having four ***k-rings on the grille as she calls them.. :D
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

All done
parking sensors and satnav update with latest maps still no tom tom but if its on the car i want it to work to the best of its ability

i have been reading forums for last few weeks about x5 pros and cons ect. i just think its best to join and introduce instead of lurking in the backgroud. Wife has been moaning about me being on the desktop then at night with laptop reading forums she thinks im mental . But its ok when i fix things not so good when i spent 2 hours messing around with bluetooth pairing at 7.30 pm,when i finished because satnav was on and the ignition the car wouldn't start battery flat . i had to go to halfords to buy a new one :(
the bmw battery date was july 06 so thought what the heck its probably on its way out .
thanks for the welcome
