am i correct in saying that the hualingan uses a microsoft windows OS, whereas the dynavin uses the google android OS?

(as if it matters to most - well, anything to do with 'windows' with my experience so far - i'll live with in office but is a no no in terms of reliability when it comes to my car)

My question is does my extension lead plug into the radio module or into the exsisting loom that goes to the module and if so can I take the radio module right out and sell that too and actaully be in profit after my uprade ??!!!!!

No. Loom with quadlock goes to RCM to tap into the amp and thus the car speakers. The tv module, satnav, Bluetooth can all come out. Should help recoup some money.

Hi, as I have an LPG tank where the spare wheel would be, i havnt access to my battery, is there anything that has to have access to this area, in order to fit this headset? I have sat nat with mk 4 dvd and 6 cd changer now but also want bluetooth and digital tv with reverse camera. can the wiring loom be connected without me having to remove my tank?

Have you got the OEM screen up front? Presuming mention of MK4 unit, you have. So yes, the Radio Control Module is in the back next to the battery, see this thread.

You need the wiring loom to be fed all the way back and to the quadlock in the RCM, so will the radio antenna. The camera will also need some power back there. Bluetooth and digital TV are part of the headunit, nothing else needed.

surely your lpg setup cannot be that bad? after all the battery should be relatively easily replaceable. it needs to be replaced every so many years through the life of the car...

No flexi hoses on the install to aid lifting should you need to replace the battery (which you might have to one day). Not to mention any issues with RCM or TV Module...

No flexi hoses. It just cost me £300 to have my battery changed at lpg garrage. didnt realise i needed access to it again for a head unit :headbang: So if i get it put on flexi hoses then car vision would be able to access it? or would they still refuse to touch it? as most garages wont risk lifting the tank unless their lpg qualified.

Can't speak for CarVision but you should have this done anyway to get access in the future.

Lezmtaylor did this and he's lifted an empty tank with care himself (and he's nearly 70)!

is there anyway for the parts i need access to, be moved from under the tank? is it not a case of extending a wire? dont even know what the parts are or look like that i would need to get to.

Anything's possible, loads of wire, a solder and some serious amounts of patience...

The parts I linked you to 7 posts back (@5:08pm), thanks to UrbanFlow.

No apologies required and unfortunately think that's the only way (unless you move the loom and all battery wiring away from that area. Talk of an access hatch UNDER the battery too tho???

This is going to test me this issue. I had a look at my tank at the weekend to see the feasibility of getting to the RCM. The way it's plumbed in I may be able to lift the tank a couple of inches over the RCM unit, I'm hopeing this will be enough to get my little mitts onto the quad lock. Failing that it's going to be a tank out job which should add a couple of hours to the overall.

I had my solid pipes replaced with flexy, through to engine.
Solid pipes are not safe as you risk breaking them when lifting tank.
Also have now got an engine lifter for the tank

Lex, can I ask how you routed your lead from the headunit to the rcm? I will ne doing this job in the near future and would like to get a heads up from someone with a bit of experience.
