I can understand why owners may not want their cars back after being stolen, owing to risk of damage and invasive nature, but wouldn't a £50/60k claim put the next year's premium up enormously?

I'm with Saga, but then I'm an old git,
By far the cheapest for me and they give full 12 months european cover also, not the usual 90 days.
They don't require a tracker but last year I upgraded all my speakers and amp and whilst doing so I found a tracker fitted in the boot area.
Phoned Saga to get a new quote if I activated the tracker.
They offered me a 1p discount.
YES 1p......

nope dealer says it should go in production 2nd week February, delivery end March - early April, so in order to ease waiting I am trying to find out about insurance, tyre insurance and other stuff - in advance :P

unfortunately there is no way to track UK order independently from the dealer as far as I know...

My insurance is due at the end of December (can you think of a worse time) and i was expecting a real shocker with all the stories about rising premiums.

Checked out gocompare yesterday and got a couple of quotes around the £700 mark, not too bad, need to qualify them of course!

Admiral, bell and elephant are the cheapest for me at £540 fully comp, not bad for a group 20 car.

So I phoned Admiral and they advise me that my renewal was £1154.28, so after some checking against details that I had entered on Gocompare and some subtle tweaks they eventually matched the £696.87 that i was quoted on the internet........done.

No chance that I'll get a decent quote for my renewal. With an East London post code and 3 years no claims..... I'm in no position to banter for a deal.
