Some people just don't care. First off it's dangerous, second it's littering and thirdly it's bl@@dy selfish! If you're dumb enough to smoke then take your debris with you!!

Several years back I had a hole burned in a rear seat when someone's dog end lobbed out of the car in front went through the open drivers window of my Opel Manta. I was not pleased. :headbang: It could have been into a childs face though, but these people never think of that do they?

You should try being on a motorbike behind them when the selfish b*s*ards flick their used dog ends out the window, had one hit me once, he soon lost his drivers mirror as I went past ! :)

Re Dumb & Selfish people.

Are folk talking about all smokers or just those that throw fag end litter ?

dont mean to sound nasty, but some bikers are just as selfish, 100mph+ near our village, weaving and overtaking dangerously, speeding cutting up etc etc, and if someone kicked my wing mirror off they better make sure there fast cos if i got them they would be doing the rest of their ride in an amulance!! p.s i used to have a bike so not against them, but near us id much rather have a fag end chucker!

Yeah I'm the first to admit there are some idiots that give us a bad name and I'm the first to moan about them too, I'm 45 in April and run a business so really can't afford to ride like a tit incase I come off as I won't be able to work and more importantly it hurts !!!!!

I have to agree with shadrack here, i'm not a smoker myself or a biker..

Throwing a fag end out of a window and it accidentally hitting a passing motorist is one thing (and I certainly don't condone it), but then smashing off someone's door mirror in a rage is quite another...

IMO the driver/smoker (who probably had no idea that's why you did it, and therefore now probably thinks all bikers are careless assholes) would be well within his rights to kick your head in at the next set of lights. As far he's concerned some random biker just flew past his car, smashed his mirror off and drove away.

If you'd been spotted by the police (and certainly arrested), I don't think "his fag end hit my bike" would be a valid excuse.

Not having a go, but you probably went about that the wrong way. :)

Just the chuckers & litterers. If anyone chooses to smoke, that's their choice. With my Dad being a retired cancer reseacher you can probably guess my own views, but they don't (publically) apply to anyone elses choices. :)

Seems I've upset a few people here, what I didn't say was that it went inside my helmet, burned my face and could have had me off the bike, so I apologise to everyone for my 'heat of the moment' reaction I suppose it was a 'you had to be there' moment :(

i agree with you ianmaney, just im saying if someone smashed off my mirror i would be after them for the money, i did used to smoke then i saw sense and admit i did throw ends out BUT i would not do this if anything was behind as it does my head in if someone does it to me, i also had an sv650 and can see it from that point too!

No worries ian, we all see red some times! But next time just flick the driver the bird!

I guess it wouldn't be so bad on an average car, but we all know if someone were to knock one of our X5 Mirrors off we wouldn't see much change from £500 to put it right!

Exactly what I was thinking about! Try £1200 to put it right (if auto folding)!
